futurebabies 7 - "Lefty's Birthday Bomb "

@ The Mucky Duck, Brixton, London, England 9pm Saturday 3rd November 2001

Hello again one and all - and apologies must go out for the vagueness of this review but I can't really remember much of what went on with it being my birthday and all that, but here goes…..

Now in our seventh instalment at the Mucky Duck, we were expecting another rip roaring night of future grooves for all the party people attending. We also had the added bonus of a couple of guest DJ's playing (cheers lads) and this gave Senor Leftos the night off which was really appreciated.

Anyway - in true futurebabies style the playing order was changed with Juan Elbows doing a rare early set and he certainly didn't disappoint will his selection of underground goodies and a few classics thrown in there for good measure. This set things up for Fish Collins (aka Andy Lloyd) to take over the controls and a bloody good job he did as well. Andy used to be a part of the Pivot Collective from years back and he will be welcomed back next year for more deck action - nice one Fish!

Little Lozza then popped himself into the mix with his usual blend of UK and US house bombs and once again he played a blinder and managed to put a smile on everyone's face in true Lozza style. Finally, we welcomed Kev Wild to the decks. Kev is well known on the circuit as a hard house DJ so this was a first for him to play a more Techy set. And he certainly showed his worth with a tight selection of new tunes and future classics and his set was enjoyed by all the people present. We will also be welcoming Kev back in the New Year for more sets.

Once again thanks to the guests and thanks to everyone that made it down to the last night - we couldn't keep on doing this without your support.

Ta

The futurebabies crew
